dont really want to fork out 200 for a new flash for the sake of a bit of plastic.
optimusParticipantMarkKeymasterNo need for apologies :)
You’re most likely to get an answer in here though.
thanks
chrisa380ParticipantHi,
There is an SLR Service centre near Trim Co. Meath, the phone number is 046 9557151. give them a ring , they should be able to tell you over the phone whether they can fix it
optimusParticipantno where can fix this.. can you believe that for the sake of a small bit of plastic that cost all of about 8 cent i have to fork out €200 on a new flash …

Have you tried looking on the second hand market for one? If you could find one with a broken flash tube or something like that you could just cannibalise it for parts.
shutterbugParticipantIf it is just the plastic that is broken and not the connections, you
could try glue, you have nothing to lose and it just might work, use
a glue suitable for the type of plastic, there are loads of different
super glues about, or even araldite if you are careful, apply it very
carefully with a pin taking care not to get it on the edge. Worth a try.optimusParticipanttried to glue it but cant get enough pressure on the little bt or plastic to keep it in place…
gonna hae to try and canablise something before i sheel out 200 squid
shutterbugParticipantUse a contact adhesive that has instant grab and a mini clamp
or clothes peg, if it is a clean break it should stick ok.
