Housey Housey (or, 1000psi)

Ok, so I’m not too proud of this one,
and its not really a fashion shot, more like ‘Street’ to me,
but its from Ladies Day at the Curragh,
and I’m sure that the lady in it would see it as Fashion-So technically,
I reckon I’ve got the bases covered-I do plan on doing the ‘Fashiony’ type shots soon though,
so watch this space-And the silly title?
Well, this post means that I’ve now posted in all the critique sections,
giving me a full house-Is this a first, or has anyone else done it yet?
j
RobMemberI don’t see an image Joseph?
Incidentally, I haven’t posted in Fashion yet either, apart from replies to other
shooters’ work, but it’s the only one I’m missing for my full house…Rob.
jb7ParticipantSorry Rob, silly me, should be up now-
Looks like I just pipped you to the post then-j
RobMemberLooks like she’s in quite a rush to leave the frame Joseph,
quite possibly to purchase a new umbrella and phone to match
the elaborate millinery she’s suspended from…Not sure if the light was on your side for this one, seems a little
flat. And while the bin would be a slight distraction on its own, the
tabloid advertising only serves to highlight its presence. At least you beat me to it…
Rob.
jb7ParticipantCheers Rob-
not a lot of light, but it wasn’t bad in quality-But yes, the main thing is stopping you achieving another pi first-
Still not sure if has been done already anyway-j
terryMemberFirst of all I would have to Congratulate you on your Full House and secondly congratulate you on being able to keep this woman in focus while moving at such a great pace. I am wondering is she a little confused. Is she going to get a new outfit to match the Yellow hat or has she just decided on the Pink Ensemble and is rushing back to give her friend the yellow hat. Either way Congrats to you
Terry
IforParticipantDid you wait until a dressy lady passed this bin?
This is quite amusing shot, the Welsh saying “Pen punt a chynffon ceiniog” came straight to my head on this one, (literaly translates an expensive head and a cheap tail).
Where you have the glamourlously dressed lady passing something cheap like the daily star.
Well seen, like it.jb7ParticipantI keep trying to forget about this one,
and it keeps popping back up-Thanks Terry, thanks Ifor-
That’s a good saying Ifor-
I’ll try to remember it,
if not pronounce it-She was moving at a great pace-
I did take a burst, at 5 frames a second-
the background was just there, and I didn’t have control of it compositionally-
I would have preferred to have it without the bin.The subtitle of this one is 1000psi-
referring of course, to the force being exerted through the heel of that Beano pink shoe as it hammers through the tarmac-
and the minimal contact and enormous force in a seemingly delicate package was the thing I found amusing-I was only there for a short while;
I fired off a few test shots on a new lens, an 85 1.8-
and this was one of them-Thanks again for the comments-
now that there’s a new forum,
the full house shot is up for grabs again-Not that this is a proper fashion shot anyway, but I still haven’t got around to that-
j
RobMemberA new forum, damn. That means I’ve got two to add to if I’m going to beat
you to it…Rob.
