how do photos end up on search engines?

I think that is the question I am asking~~

I have one photo on flickr that has been viewed hundreds of times more than any other and gets viewed daily. I looked at my flickr stats and found that most of the views of that photo are connected to Yahoo’s search engine.

I see that the photo is on the front page of Yahoo’s images when you type in *bacon.* below the photo is the link back to flickr. I could care less if it is there, but I wondered if anyone knows how those photos are selected.

I know absolutely nothing about search engines so I don’t even know if this question makes any sense.

    Thanks a mil, Shar

If you want to go see my photo of bacon…you can either go to me flickr…or go to yahoo and type in bacon..and then click images

    and there it is :)

i think it helps that the groups it is posted in is also called bacon… and you put the word bacon in the description, too.

Id guess that the photos are grouped into categories based on the text nearest to them on the page if that makes any sense(though i am probably completely wrong lol)
