So what do you guys do when a bride requests a 60 page Graphi studio album or equivalent, which easily holds 120-150 images and that’s without cramming them into the pages…something along the lines of a 16×12 landscape book? I guess it’s much easier for everyone then, as you simply put all the images into the book??

As has been said…each to their own, we all work differently and if it’s working for you, then continue!

    Great thread lol

I only end up with 800+ images because i always use a second shooter/assitiant unless its a small wedding with the whole day in the same area.

And if i was getting married and they photographer said “right there is 100 pics for you to pick from” i would laugh in his face and say what were you doing all day? no matter how good the shots are!!

I would shoot 70 shots roughly just on details and background fill images, never mind anything else.

Me Ma & Da got married in 1970.

There were 12 people at the wedding, including the bride and groom of course.

They have one wedding photo… me Da is half pissed in it… and it’s an absolute classic.

I think I’d love something similar myself… maybe two photos though, one with the Elvis impersonator too.

I just don’t get these modern day weddings at all… in fact I groan when I get a wedding invite.

I just wanted to get that off me chest… not in an angry or condescending way of course… just me being me.

I luvs y’is all at the end of the day… off to scan that photo now.

I couldn’t get it out of the frame… but there you go boys… Wedding Photography 101, 1 photo, compliments of nfl-fan:

They were living in Birmingham but married in London.

That evening me Da realised they had nowhere to stay, so walked the streets of London with me ma’s two brothers looking for a B&B.

The next day they could only afford one train fare back to Birmingham so had to borrow the money for a second.

They just don’t do weddings these days like they used to.

    Lovely-

    And a lovely dress too.
Imagine if somebody had suggested that they take a picture of the shoes…

Aye… or maybe a few shots of them searching for a B&B or argueing at the train station.

I also can’t understand how hundreds of photos are required at a wedding. My wife’s brother got married last year and he showed us a CD of their wedding which had around 400 pics on it which he was to fine tune down to 50 I think. Every shot was repeated very similarly about 10 times and I was bored after a few minutes watching it. Thank the lord it didn’t have 1200

here’s one from a recent wedding. I love seeing these old shots come out. This one was still on display. The MOB was very happy to have it and tell us about her wedding day.

just one of about 300 small, unique moments from the wedding.

It would be interesting to know what the price per image is working out at here.
Excluding the album price, what are we talking about ?

Well if it’s to be priced at €1 per image,
    I’d much rather take 1200 than 12…

Is that what you paid for your 3 pictures?

I never said one roll of 120.

No, if you check back, you’ll find that it was I who said it.

You cited your old timers with the Hasselblads, I cited my old timers with the Rollieflexes.

Because that’s how it was done.

Yes this is a photography forum, so let’s see some.
It was the Hasselblad brigade that you mentioned that produced some of the most formulaic and unimaginative wedding pictures imaginable,
including the supremely tacky brandy glass superimpositions-

I don’t much care when you came to photography, or how many pictures you take on your holidays.

If you want to be taken seriously around here, post some pictures.

Forgive me if I’m missing something here, as I’m only new to this forum.
Do you have 31 images posted, and nearly 6000 posts?
Like I said, I’m new to this forum, so mabye I’m looking in the wrong place. But if that is the case, perhaps you’d be better off taking more images, and making less comments?
If you’d followed the thread, you could mabye grasp the fact that regarding what I said about when I came to photography, I was making the point that I’m not a Luddite that’s anti-digital.
When I said about taking 1200 images over a three week holiday, I was making the point that I couldn’t understand anyone taking the same amount over twelve hours.
    Are you with me now?
I don’t care that you don’t much care when I came to photography, or how many images I took on holiday anyway.
And just for the record, I never mentioned an old-timer, and you never mentioned a Rolleiflex.

So, “show me some pictures” you demand (twice). Is there something I don’t know about this forum? Like I’ve said, I’m only new to it, but are you the regulator? I refuse your demand, mabye If you had have asked?

But I will answer the request from Rob, to show some pics.
I won’t show any wedding images though. I’m paid to take wedding images for people. As far as I’m aware, I would need to have a model release form signed by them before I start to put their images, which they paid for, out in the public domain. Anyway, even if this isn’t the case, I’d feel it was a breach of trust on my part, without at least consulting with them first. You can say this is a cop-out if you like, I’m not particularly bothered.

Anyway, what do you want to see, apart from wedding images?

    How about landscape?

    Or Reportage?

    Travel?

    B&W?

    Is that enough?

    Lovely-

Well this is all a bit competitive isn’t it?

Where did you come up with the number 31?
    My personal gallery?

I used that as a bit of an experiment,
but I usually use image hosting sites,
    such as imageshack or flickr.

If anything, it does highlight a deficiency in the site,
that it’s almost impossible to search for original posts by a member-
    or original image posts.
I’m not sure if it’s possible to address that issue,
unless there was some way to share bookmarks-

But if that is the case, perhaps you’d be better off taking more images, and making less comments?

You really enjoy telling people what to do, don’t you?
Well I’m sorry to have rattled your cage,
but I’m not in the business of trading personal animosity on a forum.
    Or taking instructions.

So we’ll just have to ignore each other from now on.

Lovely pictures- especially the very much more recent ones from your holidays.
You should try posting some in the critique sections-
though you have to be able to accept differences of opinion there.

Might be a bit of a steep learning curve.
