    Hi all,

How do i place a frame type/thin line on my image, not around it, but on it. so if i was using a 10×8 image and i wanted to place, lets say a 1inch line all around/on the image so the image would be cropped with the black line, but still remaining a 10×8, well a 9×7 with a black 1inch border. hope you can make sense of my explanation.

    create a canvas thats 10*8

    scale image to 9*7

put it in the centre of the 10*8

on a new layer select all and stroke it

using the centre and 1 or maybe 2 pixels

btw 9*7 on a 10*8 is not an inch round its 1/2 inch round

Forgive my ignorance, but what does “stroke it” mean?

This is the way I do it:
Canvas Image from Menu/ Image and:
Choose ‘points’ and tick the ‘relative’ box.
In each ‘width’ and ‘height’ values add same number.
You have the option to make the border white or black, or any other colour of your choice.
At the end you can resize the picture back to 10”/8”.
Downside: the border is ‘glued’ to the image layer so I’d rather make separate layers.

Of course there are many ways to do it, you just have to find the one that suits you.
    Good luck.
