Accidentally came across this website when ‘googleling’ cameras for sale. Have been browsing through and have came across very useful info and some truly superb photos. You all appear to be a friendly bunch aswell :wink:
I dont actually own a camera right now. I have been looking at various cameras for sale namely the Canon 450d but it seems my budget doesnt stretch that far. Money is mega tight right now as im not working so have a budget of roughly 400-450 which isnt a lot. I have also been looking at the Nikon D60.
Only a beginner. I suppose people would know me as being a bit artistic and i am keen to give this ‘hobby’ a go :D :D
Hi Pedro. Welcome to the site. Although you don’t need an expensive camera to produce great photos,actually having a camera would help. :D Enjoy yourself on PI & hopefully we will see some of your artistic flair here soon.
Welcome Pedro. Check out the for sale section on here or go to adverts.ie and see whats for sale there. If you dont mind buying second hand you can pick up a good DSLR for €500. I would go for something like 30D plus lens or 450D with kit lens

First off thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!!
Haven’t had too much joy getting a camera. But am glad I have picked up a few things to lookout for and that I have avoided getting my ‘fingers burnt’. I have decided to stick with looking for a Canon branded camera. Preferably something well looked after and within budget. A 450d would be great but also been looking into 400ds, 500ds & 30ds… its a bit of a learning curve i suppose :lol:
Was in around Dublin’s north inner city yesterday and was kicking myself I had no camera as i could have gotten some cracking shots :(
If anyone has anything for sale please let me know. I would prefer to buy something of forum member/enthusiast. Cheers and thanks again for all the advice.
Well Mr. Pedro finally got himself sorted with a Canon 450d!! :D
Took me a while but glad I took my time and am very happy to now have my first DSLR.
As soon as I got the camera I started taking a few shots. These two would be the best of them so far. Nothing at all special but I kinda like them. (CANNOT UPLOAD PHOTOBUCKET PICS FOR SOME REASON)
Have just finished putting the Canon software on my PC. I have the standard kit lens with it.
Really dont know much about software books websites or anything so if anybody can recommend any to start off with please let me know. I am going to join Flickr, get a bag and pick up a book in Easons.
