I’ve seen this term bandied about and I understand its some sort of super duper f stop/ focus distance combo, but can anyone point me dpwn the road of focussing Nirvana?
the hyperfocal distance is the focus setting that provides maximum DOF for any given aperture.
It is the distance to the nearest point that is sharp when the lens is set at infinity and its the nearest distance at which an object can be focused on while infinity appears sharp.
The larger the aperture, the further away this point is.
With AF ONLY camereas, you cannon set the hyperfocal distance
however
With Manual Focus cameras, you can set hyperfocal distance and then not worry about the clarity of any subjects falling withing the range of sharp focus.
