I bid on a 40d by mistake and won it. I don’t want it!

Anyone here want it?
It’s brand new, here’s the link
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130229127845
With one year warranty.
Any takers?
RGH_PhotographyMemberHow do you bid on something by mistake ? even if you did place a bid you can retract it straight away ! Just email the seller who is a US seller not UK and say that the £35.00 postage is WAY to much for delivery you only deal with UK sellers. Or just dont pay him… you havnt got a perfect feedback score so i wouldnt worry.
stasberMemberIt’s from a shop, rather than a private buyer, which is good – so if it’s not too late get in touch and be honest and upfront about the mistake and be open about remedying the issue. If they see you made a genuine mistake they shouldn’t tar your name if you make it as easy for them to retract the transaction. I’m sure they’ll sell it to the next person soon enough ;)
I was in the same situation – I won a Canon battery grip, and realised too late that it was the wrong one (it was a present for someone with a Rebel). I told them straight out and made it clear I’m not running them about. A number of ebay emails went back and forth to anull the transaction and we both parted on good terms.
Try it – good luck!
sean1098MemberStasber is right. Its always best to be honest, and 9 out of ten times it works out in your favour. If they are a shop then there should not be a problem, but i would ring them, its better than mailing.
Sean.

How did you get on, was calm restored?
Capricorn1ParticipantHa! I just emailed him and told him I’m not paying for it. The guy’s feedback was just getting worse and worse so I just said eff it. He claims to post from UK but according to feedback every single item comes from the US. Check out his feedback in the last month, I’ve never seen feedback so bad! And I don’t know how he hasn’t been kicked out of ebay.
So I ended up getting the 40d from this guy for 600e on the dot.
I really recommend him he’s very friendly. His prices are some of the cheapest on ebay. The canon 24-105 is 650e incl p&p *drooool*. He has lots of weird rare looking camera gear that some of ye might be interested in.
summerdreamnMemberCapricorn1ParticipantI don’t think you’ve anything to worry about. The receipt that came with my 40d said “camera repair – service charge $100” or something like that.
