I recently bought a new iMac and wanted to get a professional screen calibrator. Having bought the i1 Display 2 program at the weekend I tried it out last night but it just froze. Apparently it isn’t compatible with Snow Leopard straight out of the box. There’s a download from the X-rite web site that’s supposed to fix this but it still doesn’t work on my machine.
To add to my woes, X-rite don’t support i1 Display 2 any more, as it’s a discontinued product. I probably should have gone with the i1 Display Pro but didn’t realise my mistake at the time.
Obviously, the box was opened and the software installed on my machine. Would I be entitled to bring the product back to the shop (Conns Cameras, Dublin) and ask for an upgrade to the Pro version or am I just stuck with what I have?
Your i1 display should work no problem with Snow leopard. I use it with with my mac pro running snow leopard with no issues with the latest software update from xrite, which is i1 Match 3.6.3. You may need to install rosetta first. Are you sure you are not running Lion, this has no rosetta support thought I believe x-rite have come up with some sort of workaround.i1 Match 3.6.3 for mac link below.
