The fullsize just isn’t downloading for me. Can see enough in the thumbnail. I hate these thumbnails. I need to talk to my TD about thumbnail usage in forums ;-).
keithParticipantforgive my ignorance im new to this but how do you make images appear like everyone elses???
joe_elwayParticipantIt probably comes down to either the service you’re using or the link you’re using. I generally copy the URL of the image, e.g. http://something.com/myalbum/imagename.jpg and paste it into a post. I then wrap it with [img]and[/img] tags on either end.
keithParticipantjoe_elwayParticipantThe tags will load your pic directly into the thread from the hosting site.
joe_elwayParticipantIt’s made easy for you if you use photobucket. They give you a copy of the URL to your image to post into threads.
terryMemberFlippen Hell keith the larger image eventually uploaded for me and its HUGE but to me it also looks like a Kestrel. But I guarentee you will have a positive ID on this guy before long with all the knowledge of birds the guys have on here.
Terry
joe_elwayParticipantDownloaded it at work. Way too big of an image to share. Best to make it 800*600 and reduce the size to less than 200KB to share.
I’d go with Kestral as well. Looks like it is hovering. The wings are forward with that telltale point midway along. The tail being spread as well makes me fairly sure it’s a kestrel.
shutterbugParticipantshutterbugParticipantPS………just an afterthought, how on earth did you manage this?
Hang glider???joe_elwayParticipantPity it’s flying away. Other way around and this shot would be something out of this world, esp with that background.
Keith, where’d you shoot it? That might help us nail it down —- until John comes along and tells us exactly what it is :)
joe_elwayParticipantI’m sticking with Kestrel: http://www.pbase.com/tonbenrob/image/55644191
You’ve got the dark tips and trailing edges on the wings. The pointing feathers on the front end. The black bar on the edge of the tail.
