I’m in Belfast for 3 months …

I’m starting a 3 month contract in Belfast tomorrow. I’m staying near the ciy centre. Can anyone tell me where there’s some good camera shops here (I only know where Jessops is) and if there’s any wildlife reserves in the vicinity? Hopefully I’ll get some time out and about some Saturdays. I’ll mostly be hading home at weekends but I would like to take advantage of my time up here.

I’m a Derryman so I’m no expert. There’s a zoo and a nice walk in the woods up above the zoo at Cave hill. There’s a Botanic Garden near Stranmillis/Queen’s.
i think there is a bird reserve in the harbour somewhere i remember seeing in on tv at some point
Aidan, PM me were abouts you are staying in Belfast and I will try to recommend were you might be able to go and were you probably couldn’t go unless you bring that big gun with you. Thankfully it’s quieter up here now and the gun isn’t a necessity. There are a few interesting places in the centre of the city, The Cathederal Quarter, the Odyssey. I know you are into your wildlife shots and Belfast Zoo has some animals that are pretty rare but if you are working or and heading home at the weekends. It wouldn’t be possible for me to meet this week and part of next but one evening the Mrs is working I could give you a Belfast mans tour of some of the more “Scenic parts” made famous by the troubles.
