    Hi All,
Im thinking of doing a 35mm Camera, not for wedding. MAYBE portrait (model)

Which would be better 35mm Camera or Hasselblad film?
AND how to develop both 35mm Camera and Hasselblad film?

Im sure theres a 35mm film hardware you can upload onto your computer.

Is there a cool link I should check out?

    Hi Johnny

A bit lost reading your question, Hassleblad is a brand of medium format camera so I’m a bit lost as to what you want answered. There are plenty of great second hand 35mm cameras out there to buy for very little money, if you use say a digital Canon slr then your lens will fit the eos canon film cameras bodies and the same with Nikon. Film can be cheap enough to buy but you’ll only take a max of 36 exp per roll so you may not like that if you’re used to taking a lot of images in digital. Plenty of fun processing your own B&W and you’ll get plenty of supplies from “the fitz”, http://www.thephotoshop.ie

    Cheers,
Sorry for not making myself clear.

I’m interesting in doing a 35mm film camera but I’m just wonder how or what’s the best way to get develop without getting a darkroom?
Also I’m interesting in getting a hassleblad BUT those HAVE to have a darkroom?

    Hi Johnny

If you’re a canon user you can pick up a pro body like the Eos 3 or Eos 1 for under €200, Conns sometimes has them, what may be a good way to start is to use cheap colour film and have it processed and scanned tp CD, you may only pay abour €3.99 for this service + film cost, I picked up a load of in-date Kodak colour film in a discount store for €1.49 for 24 exp. I’d master this first, going down the road of a Hassleblad is a different story, you may get 15 exp on a single roll of film and to get it processed and scanned in say Conns or Gunns may cost you up to €18 per roll, (don’t even mention slide), start on the 35mm and work from there. One thing mind you when you know that you’ve only a few frames left on that roll will sharpen your general approach to taking pictures, you lay off the shutter button a lot more.

    Hi Johnny,

You don’t need a darkroom for either 35mm or 120 to develop a roll of film just for printing.
The only time you need darkness is when loading a developing tank and that can be done using a film changing
    bag (thephotoshop.ie sells them).

Of course, as Paul suggests you could try out some film, get it processed and scanned locally just to see if
    its something you like doing…

John Minivan, great photographer. Have a small book of his photos. There was also a good programme on RTE(?) last year or so about him.

Johnny, out of interest are you thinking of b+w and/or colour ?

canon ef-s lenses will not work on eos film bodies!

and more than likely the same with the nikon format too, the film bodies are “full frame” !
