It doesn’t do much for me, the black and white conversion looks good, but the composition just isn’t interesting imho.
But I think even if you feel its outside your comfort zone you should keep at this type of stuff.
There is a lot of potential in the topic, you obviously live somewhere with beautiful landscape/sunsets, which in a way makes photography easier, in a certain sense.
But a building site is very different to nature/landscape and could be very interesting, a challenge to get some interesting results. Im thinking like what mick451 does with his farm photos.
I joined a local photography club three days ago and had to come up with something for critque under the topic of Machinery abstract with one days notice for last nights meet up.
Supriseingly this shot went over quite well with in the topic.
Well there you go, each has different tastes.
It is taken well, with good use of depth of field and contrast, so I guess if the composition clicks for people it would work well.
I have to find a photography club myself.
Martin, I found this club on Meetup.com. they have a monthly club meet up and workshops every other week(free of charge) Also they plan monthly outings. Another nice thing is they meet less then 5min from my home.
Cheers for that Jim.
I found a group called “Tokyo Shutterbugs” on meetup.com
Its seems to be more social than overly serious, but nothing wrong with that, I’ll give it a go.
