Co. Kerry.. where else? There isn’t a whole lot of detail in the background to begin with, so…..
MoongirlParticipantI like it its really simple. Detail in the background would just be distracting.
I think it would have looked better if the person was walking instead of standing still.
Mitch
alancotterParticipantCheers for the feedback Moongirl.. The person was walking, just away from me, hence why they look static…
De-aRtParticipantGreat shot – really, really like this – well done.
Lovely composition and simple lines.
snaphappyMemberhey Alan i love the image but i do feel the placement of the person in the image is a tad contrived…
alancotterParticipantI can see where you coming from, but the shot is natural, no set up.. This is one of my first shots, back when i was trying to find my feet with this lark..
cheers for the feedback,
AlanMadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantHi Alan, i thought that you posted that image already or is my mind messed up now? anyway i love your inch series! cheers Madeleine
alancotterParticipantHi Madeleine, no i haven’t posted this shot before… and thanks ;-)
I hope to get down again to Inch next weekend, regardless of weather conditions…
Take care,
AlanPeteWMemberI too thought this was familiar, then a quick search back through and found this thread….

Still a worthy shot though Accurate title too ;)
BrickeeParticipantalancotterParticipantAhh balls… Madeleine, you’re not crazy and my apologies, I’m the one going crazy….. Really sorry lads for forcing this on you again, i completely and utterly forgot that i already posted this…
MadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipanthahaha, thats funny. But my question was a compliment because your image was printed in my mind ( ; cheers
hopelessParticipantIt’s a great shot. I know Inch Beach very well and yet I haven’t got that shot. It just goes to show that there’s plenty of photographic potential even in the one location.
Can I ask what camera/lens you used? It looks pretty wide angle. I’ve looked at your other Inch photos and they all have the vignetting: post-processed style or just camera/lens/filter combination?
alancotterParticipantHi Jamie, thanks.. I’ve been to Inch quite a few times and have always come back with different shots, that particular day was a bright and very beautiful April day, but in color the image i felt lacked contrast, it was missing something, tho others liked it..
That shot was taken nearly 4 years ago now, back then i was shooting with a Canon EOS 10D and a really cheap Sigma 24-105mm.
I don’t use filters, except for the obvious B&W MRC UV filters.. The vignetting i add is done through Adobe Camera RAW in Lightroom as it gives each shot different results, i find that it works only with some shots, depending on how i want to process it.. And i wont always do it, i try not to….
