Pass this every morning bringing my daughter to school. I love the colours of the chimney, very “brassy”. Just as I was taking it I noticed 2 guys in orange on the right hand side. This factory can be seen from almost anywhere in Drogheda, its one of the defining things in the skyline.

The golden/brassy colours are very attractive but it has me twitching to convert it to B&W with all that subtle shading and texture.
Might need a tad CCW rotation

Thanks John for replying. I will have a look at it in B&W but it was the brassy colours that really caught my eye. Having said that, it is probably a building that would suit both. CCW rotation? How do I do that? Sorry for my ignorance.

Maybe my old eyes are out of whack but I think the stack appears to be leaning a little to the right (clock wise, CW). If you rotate the image in PS about 0.6 degrees to the left (counter clock wise CCW) and crop the rotated image to keep as much of the image as you can.

Thanks John for that. Another thing learnt :D I converted the picture to B&W, and you were right it looks very good in B&W. I didn’t think it would because it was the colours that attracted me to it. I also straightened it.

I prefer the color version. In mono the building looses definition and blends into the sky too much. Good shot though.
