Im aware that each change in F value halves the amount of light comming into the camera ( for each full stop up or down), and the same applies for the exposure time. does anyone know of a website that lists if each stop ( both apature f stop and time value) are a full or half stop?
Exposure calculations are based around base-2 logarithms. Once you get to grips with that, the strange numbers you often see in exposure measurements suddenly begin to make sense and you can work out any values you need. The Science of Photography goes into some depth on this topic, or alternatively, just run a search with terms like lob base-2 exposure. This text might be a bit easier to understand, although it relates to darkroom printing exposures, but the principles are identical.
