Maybe it was the cold, but the riders weren’t doing much in the way of ariel stunts last Sunday.

Nicely framed there Aidan, possibly my favourite of your shots from
this series. With that sky it almost looks as though it was done in a studio
and cables and supports cloned out afterwards. It just has a little
something going for it that I can’t quite put my finger on, but I really
    like it. Good work…

Thanks Rob. It’s my fave of the lot too. Just a little selective editing to bring the sky back into the shot was all it required.

    Aidan,

Great shot, looks as if you used a little fill-in flash as well to brighten it up.

Nice one Aidan. I seemed to have mised this one up to now. I think the attire of this guy helped in the lighting – mine came up equally well exposed.

I used a little fill in flash for about 5 shots but was approached by a marshall with a Canon and white lens duly informing me that you cannot use flash at motor sports  . I think she should get out more. Funny how she was on trackside the following day in direct line of the motorcyclists taking photographs. Obviously some animals are more equal…

Thanks Conor and Alan. This was the one magic moment where the light worked on that day. I love the late afternoon light at this time of year. Most of my best pics are shot in March/April.

No flash used :) Last thing I would want to do is distract them while they’re 20 feet up in the air!!! I saw that Marshall wandering about. She had a 70-200 F2.8.
