Into the mist

I got up early on Sunday to try and get a decent sunrise, but the whole of Derry was layed in fog. I got this shot of the Foyle bridge instead.
Does it need more space on the left (I original has this but felt it worked better cropped out)?
Is it too flat? Again with the dense fog there was little detail… I am not sure if this works or not.1.
This is the same scene but from a lower perspective.

I prefer #2, it has atmosphere, almost menacoing as it looms over us.
in #1 the lines are too straight also don’t like the grubby ironwork.I like these, a great subject for the morning that was in it.

Thanks folks. I must admit it is one of those places that I drive over all the time and never stop to look at…. with the fog being so heavy on Sat it was a good opportunity to try something on my (old) doorstep.
This is another one from the same spot. Not the same theme, but still it saves someone having to trawl through another thread :roll:
Second one works for me. I like these shots disappearing into nothing. Leaves me questioning what lies beyond the fog.
