Introduction and Urgent answer to question needed

Hi all,

I am based in Galway and am relatively new to photography. Enjoying the experimentation phase at the moment, but have
an urgent need for good umbrella kit within the next week. Can you advise of any stockists of such equipment in Ireland?
I’ve tried Calumet in Belfast and have looked at some Elinchrome products which are softbox models only…..but no luck with
Umbrella kits. I’d really appreciate any help here???

Hi Mark,

I’ve been in touch with Barker….should have mentioned it. They stock the D-Lite kits which are softbox only.
Cannot seem to find any stockist of a brand the does Umbrella kits.

Umbrellas can be picked up almost anywhere surely? So why not buy the softbox kit and buy the umbrellas seperately? The softboxes are worth more than umbrellas, and these kits used to sell for the same price whether they were umbrella kit or softbox kit. I know that, because when I bought mine the only option was for an umbrella kit and I had to spend more on buying softboxes.
When you think of what you will get for your money (approx £400 from say warehouseexpress) compared to a little Canon or Nikon flashgun which can cost £300+ it is a no brainer. Although I accept you can’t take your D-lite kit in your camera bag…… :wink: I’m just talking relative value for money in terms of what you get. 8)

i have a 3 head lastolite 400W kit for sale. with brolley and softbox,with a set of elinchrom wireless triggers. although i am based in dublin
