I know a few people have expressed some intrest in buying an IR converted camera,
I have bought from this guy , and he was very efficient.
He seems to sell all makes and models,
Might be worth a look……

Cheers Steve
SheldonParticipantI know a guy in Swords that converts them and can even do ultra violet with crystal lenses. PM me your details if you are interested.
IOPParticipantSheldon, does your contact re-set the position of the sensor to accommodate the different focussing distance for IR? I have a D200 I’m thinking of getting done,

I converted my Nikon D70 camera myself a few years back. I didn’t re calibrate the focusing (its done by moving the mirror up and down a little bit). It makes no real difference I found and all other IR shooters that I know think the same…. Even with mf film IR which I mostly do these days I never adjust focusing for IR light. If your doing macro photography at around F1 to F5.6 it might make a small difference (part of the picture that is in focus might move forward a little) but other than that it makes no real difference in the real world….
Some of my shots from a non focus calibrated IR converted camera at the link below… You would need to see the prints to see how sharp they really are but the link will give you an idea….

Any idea what he might charge for converting a D200 or D90 ?
Just as a rough guide as I’m not in the market at the moment but maybe next year.
This crowd charge about $400 plus carriage to do it
