    Very good altogether-
rather too many for one post though-
particularly as there are so many strong ones-

    Particularly like the bazar ones-

Stunning stuff, have sent an email to my self to look at them in detail later, quick glance just stunning reminds of Magnum photographer “Gilles Peress” http://www.artsmia.org/get-the-picture/print/peress.shtml

Wow! As a full set this is very impressive indeed. The warm colours and rich tones that are on offer in each frame are sensational. You seem to have a wonderful grasp of space and composition.

My favourites from the set would have to be:

-The man sleeping amidst the pots. A wonderfully composed and considered image. It reminds me [slightly] of a Jeff Wall photo, ‘Insomnia’. I love that the eye is assulted by so many pots and pans quietly reflecting light and making the scene more chaotic. And yet in the middle of the frame there is a man sleeping/resting. Beautiful.

-The American flag wall art. Once again the composition is sublime and very well considered. As a socio-documentary photo it is brilliant.

-The boy and the ball. This is one of the best portaits I have seen in a while. The pose/expression and lighting are flawless.

Good luck making something of this series… Have you any plans for it?

    Best,

Heya, thanks for your time Peter and your kind words. A friend of mine runs a gallery in Greystones in Wicklow and is holding an open exhibition around december. She suggested compiling them in a blurb book and selling from there, I’m not sure a book of photos of Iran would sell too well at christmas though and i’m far too skint to buy more than a few right now in case they don’t! Apart from that i really wouldn’t know how to approach marketing my photos with no more than a flickr account, they may rest as good assets in my portfolio for now

    Desmond,

As a matter of interest, did you ever get any enlarged prints on this lot & how did they turn out….?

    Tks.

Excellent shots mate. I’m really jealous actually. I tried to get
into Iran last year but was refused entry at the last minute. Don’t ask me why.
A place a really I want to see even more so now after seeing your shots.
Brilliant work. have you tried the kid with the football in black and white.

    Desmond,

Fantastic shots, well done. You have captured the ‘real’ Middle East. Living here in the UAE, you sometimes forget where you are amongst the bling bling skyscrapers, designer brands ‘lets catch up with and surpass the West’ mentality!

Why Iran? How did you find travelling there? It wasnt on my priority list of Middle Eastern countries to visit ,but your pictures have somewhat swayed me. Would you recommend it taking into account that I am a female traveller?!

Again your shots are mesmerising and are of a quality that I can only aspire towards..
Looking forward to seeing more of your work

Some really superb images. Too many to comment on/critique in any detail though :?

I spent 15 days in Iran in October 2007 on a photographic trip and loved it, would definitely go back.
