Really difficult conditions. Smoke bombs, lashing rain, High ISO’s stewards and fans getting in your way. Great seats though. All handheld shooting at 640 iso at 250 and 320th with Sigma 70-300.
SeaviewParticipantExcellent shots considering the conditions, number one would be my pick. Pity about the result.
Dave.
Gortan60ParticipantI like the third one, really good work. Pity about the result alright. What area of the stadium were you in, can you remember the row or sears? Just for future reference if I’m looking for a good seat. Well done again on the pics.

markst33ParticipantpaulParticipantGood set of images. The tones seem to change a bit through the images though. Not sure if that is your own processing or something.
Not a great game for photos. Due to licensing and accreditation rules, you won’t see any accredited photographers (like myself) posting any picts up.
I must stick up some from the women’s game on Fri night though.
markst33ParticipantPaul, what due you mean “Due to licensing and accreditation rules, you won’t see any accredited photographers (like myself) posting any picts up.” ?
Not even to amateur photography websites ?
The tonal change could be due in part to first half second half shots and the change in the light. I pretty much processed them all the same way. Or it could be due to shooting some to mu=y left and some to my right, I am not sure.
Mark S.
paulParticipantMight be more a white balance thing in your images.
Your last image there seems to have the most natural tones/colours, where the white is white, and the skin tones look natural.
Accredited photographers have strict licensing regulations as to where the images can be used. Specifically, images can only be used for “normal journalistic use within print media, and/or for editorial purposes on bona fide news-related internet sites.” So, posting to a photography site like this, or any other, is in breach of such terms.
Any breach of these Terms and Conditions can entitle the IRFU to blacklist the photographer. :? The IRFU are strict.
But, I do have my images on my own website, which I use to promote the images towards media outlets, as well as the same images being displayed on the agency website that I submit to.
markst33ParticipantCheers for that Paul. I shot the whole set with the WB set to Sunshine and made no changes to that setting in Raw. I’ll have a look at your site. I also finished adding all my shots from Sat to flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22330403N02/sets/72157632967603182/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
Mark S.
paulParticipantI tend to use AWB (Auto white balance), and then adjust if there is an issue later. I always try to keep the images as consistent in colour/tone as possible. Your sunshine setting may have warmed up the images a bit, especially on a wet day under lights.
sndipoMemberFor some reason you have two of these threads up and thus my comment went amiss.
Very well done, especially considering the conditions.. Love the first one, really paints the atmosphere. Third would also be in my list for sure :)
