Be interested to see what people think of this image. have been doing well in club competitions with this sort of processing but have not really posted any before. Thanks for looking

i find it quite odd that this image has had no response whatsoever, especially considering that you usually get a litany of ‘nice one’ type comments.

i like it. her expression is great, kinda cynical in a cheeky way? looks like a little girl with quite a sense of humor who takes no nonsense!!

the processing works well i think, the muted colors go well with her hair, the lighter area draws attention to the eyes and the texture is subtle enough to give it a nice earthy look all in all enhancing the earthy impression one gets of her character.

I agree partially. I do not want to take anything of the quality of the work here. I think its well done and the photo itself is nice and sharp. But for me the processing and the subject don’t work together. I wouldn’t use the mystical feel that the processing has for a child. To me it would be more of a adult thing.

i guess thats more a sign of the times we live in than anything else unfortunately. personally i don’t see anything particularly adult about it, sure aren’t all children away with the fairies?

To me it has moved away from photography and into digital art. It’s totally over processed but then if that’s what the paying customer wants, so be it.
The portrait itself is quite nice with her little cheeky expression and you’ve caught her eyes beautifully. I would have moved that stray hair from across her right eye if spotted in time or cloned it out afterwards.
