Irish Photo Artist – Art Thief
-
GizzoParticipant
Gary, Andy…. try to look on the bright side of things.
no one thinks about stealing my pictures.
guess why?
because they’re awful. :D
at least now you know about your photographic talent!!!(talking seriously, I totally understand your feelings)
gregorParticipantGuys this is unreal  , I think screen shots should be taken and the guy should pay for it. And all those comments, the whole flicker thing just makes me sick!
jb7ParticipantCan somebody make this flash?
I spotted this wonderful
stolen
pictureand just had to say so
Seems that comments are just swallowed up by the one click commenters on fliker-
ossie13ParticipantAndy for what it’s worth I have filed a Abuse report with Flickr and asked for him to be banned!!
Cheers Steve
andy mcinroyParticipantThanks for taking the time to do that Steve, much obliged.
I’m currently hot on his trail. I’ll keep you updated.
rc53Memberjqmx0ParticipantThat’s disgraceful behaviour, how could someone be happy posting someone elses work as their own!
This is exactly why I rarely post my photos online.
At the moment, I’m currently looking at ways of embedding an invisible digital watermark in my photos, unfortunately most solutions are expensive i.e. Digimarc (https://www.digimarc.com/mypicturemarc/)
The alternative is a very obvious visible watermark covering most of the image which I don’t want to do as they can spoilt the image
andy mcinroyParticipantYes, after seeing this thread I can understand your concern about watermarking.
But if I put it into perspective for you. I have had photos online for 10 years and this is the first time that something as blatantly dishonest has happened to me. I will of course be pursuing the thief (and flickr) until this is sorted.
I have had some other experiences of photo theft which I have resolved very quickly.
Last year I discovered that a local pastel artist was recreating my photographs which she was selling. That one was sorted out very quickly with huge embarrassment on her part. I’ve also very occassionally had small buisness (e.g B+Bs) stealing my photos for their websites, but a sharp email always sorts those out.
Andy
andy mcinroyParticipantPhoto has disappeared !!!!
I have screenshots anyway.
Thanks for your help folks. I will still be pursuing this to get an explanation from Martin Cullen.
andy mcinroyParticipantEmail received from Martin Cullen

Andy
ExpresbroParticipantYeah..I’ve only just come across this thread…
The picture was still there 20 minutes ago..so he’s literally only after deleting it now.
PeteTheBlokeMemberNice of him to email you and explain the situation. Silly of you to think he was a thief!
PeteTheBlokeMemberAlan RossiterParticipantYou’d need to upload it to your album and anyone wanting to use it would need to embed it in their message.
Good one Pete. This could catch on in Flickr and you’d be a hero!!!

I guess that’s a good ratio, I’m surprised it’s not higher as your photos are stunning :D
One other link worth looking at is a free invisible watermarking application called Concealar http://concealar.googlepages.com/
