Sorry if I offended you Ivar, but motor sport is dangerious.

I am glad that you have come away from the day with a better understanding of the sport.

I have sent you a pm with details of how to contact Mr. Logan.

I have seen too many good people pass from us too soon as a result of this great sport that I love. I just dont want to see or hear of any bode getting injured or worse as a result of misleading information.

In all of this I think that your photos get over looked.

They are a great selection of shots, and if you want to get the into doing it the right way just let me know and I will give you all the information that I can to help you out.

Since my expedition to the Moto x a few weeks back I am quite fond of this particular type of shot.
I was very pleased with my efforts on the day and I’m sure you must be also as these are great shots and are perfectly panned IMO, well for what I know about it.
Excellent and I really enjoyed looking at them.

Hehe! not affended at all. I do agree… besides… I have been riding since mid 90’s myself… and also lost a handful of friends on the roads… so any heads up for others to learn from is better than not.

    Got your PM’s. Thanks a mill! ;-)

    Ivar

PS! I also had a looh at Biker. ie and registrated there… :-)

Awesome shots man! Really good for a first attemt. That side-car one is great, really clear. Must get me a nice L lens. I’d absolutely love to get into this type of photography. heading to the last Moto GP at Valencia in October and i have a placement with Inpho for a few weeks so hopefully (fingers really tightly crossed) they might be able to sort me out with some form of press pass.

You should apply to mondello for a press-pass, start getting photos published as shots like those are great for promoting the sport, few of my pics from the day here, try the road racing too, turn up early as it’s hard to get a good spot with all the spectators.

Good look, let me know how you get on with it as Ive been bashing my head repeatedly against a brick wall trying to get a Motorsport Ireland pass.

Class shots, better than anything i’ve seen from the day!

Hard to nail the sharpness with those shutter speeds and anything larger than your typical 400px internet thumbnail tends to show up any shortcomings in technique, didn’t seem to be anything dangerous about where you were positioned, basically on the inside of a corner (turn4?) and a lot less likely to be hit than *cough some lads :mrgree

Now Brendan, If you know Mondello Park like you are implying than you would know that shot was taken at the exit of turn two. Up on a 5 – 6 foot bank, Approx 50 to 50 foot from point of impact of the bikes. With being up on the bank there is a smaller chance of being struck by a bike.
And with a 70-200 with a 2Xtc it is easer to get closer to the action.

I was at a race two days ago and witnessed this man [Martin Finnegan RIP] travel up a 30ft embankment, straight though a fence and into 3 spectators, it’s a lot safer on the inside of the corner :!:
