So… I went on a photo mission at 4am with the mother of all hangovers, and guess what – THICK FOG!!
Well – not to be outdone by the weather, I thought I’d give it my best shot (no pun intended).
Came across this hut on an isolated causeway, and really liked the way the fog gave an even more isolated feel to it than normal. Not my normal kind of shot, which is why I’m putting it up here for C&C. Love to know what you think – whether the feedback be good, bad, harsh or gentle!

Thanks for looking,
Tim
AliParticipanti absolutely love the composition of this shot. Very much perfect to me and your presentation is just the icing on the cake. I’m working off my laptop at the moment and it isnt calibrated but i am dying to look at it on my own machine. From what i see, exceptional. And i love the flat sky. SUPER !!
earthairfireParticipantSteveDParticipantTim, I like the composition too. Have you considered giving it a little colour?
For example….
CiaraParticipantBeautiful shot, this would be my sorta taste ! Love it
I like the colour added to it, gives it character and an aged look. Not Pete the blokeParticipantSteveD wrote:

I know Steve is aware this is not ‘colour,’ but for the benefit of beginners, this is called ‘toning’ where the greyscale is given a colour tone – which can be sepia, blue, red etc. It still qualifies for entry to black and white competitions for instance.
FlipflipParticipantThis is a lovely shot.
Its a very postcardy shot or a shot to frame, if ya get me?
In simple temrs, its a keeper! haha.
Nah seriously, well done, composition is fantastic and overall a brilliant pic!
Mick451ParticipantLovely composition, really excellent.
Not sure about the thin black line border, would prefer to see a very thick white…but if that’s all I can niggle about then I should shut up.earthairfireParticipantThanks, all.
Nice mod, Steve – I like it. Nice to get a few keepers out of one shot.
As for the border, it IS a wide white border, with a tiny black key line. You just can’t tell as the background on the forum is white… :)
Nice tip about the toning too – I never realised that toned images qualified for B&W competitions!
Cheers,
Tim
RobMemberMarvellous image Tim, very striking indeed, and Steve’s toning job is superb. Excellent title by the way.
Rob.
RobertoMemberI like the composition of the photo.
I miss something there. I would play with the contrast/brightness to bring up the fogy atmosphere.CianMcLiamParticipantThis is great, nicely balanced composition, not too much or too little space on the right and I could see this selling by the crate as a framed interior piece.
earthairfireParticipantMany thanks for ther comments.
