If anyone is coming… You must, must, must go to see Hat Fitz and Itchy… Awesome!!
They played the gig of the festival last year on the sunday night.. Can’t wait to see them!JokerParticipantthat looks quite cool, but where is it on :?
Edit: Warrenpoint.
They really should put that on the websiteExpresbroParticipantLooks like a really great Festival. It is basically the same set up as the old Temple Bar Blues Festival (which actually extended outside of the Temple Bar area), which was also sponsored by Guinness. Never understood why they pulled their sponsorship to be honest.
I used to take the few days off work and head in early on the Thursday and basically disappear for 4 days.. Met some great characters and heard some fantastic music. Wish I’d had my camera back then..but then again…don’t think I’d have trusted myself to not lose it…hehehe!!
I don’t recognise a lot of those names, except the big ones like The Yardbirds ( Wonder if Eric, Jeff or Jimmy are hanging around Warrenpoint..;-))and Robben Ford and people like Mary Stokes obviously. But if REV. DOC AND THE CONGREGATION are the same band I saw in Temple Bar years ago they were bloody brilliant. They were an English band and the lead singer was a black preacher guy with an amazing stage presence… something else, and well worth catching if it is them.
MarkKeymasterOK, next year we’re going to have a PI event at this. Visit to the Mournes with some Blues would make a great weekend!
We all stopped off in Warrenpoint for some food last time we were there and seemed like a great spot to visit for a weekend.
nfl-fanParticipantDon’t mention The Blues to me… it’s the end of May… and as I look out the window I see grey sky and drizzle, plus it’s cold enough to turn on the heating here in the house.
GizzoParticipantjessthespringerParticipantRobbie.. Most of the bands stay in and around town.. they all go to each others gigs as well.
I think I saw there is a all stars gig on, on the sunday night maybe, gotta be good!
There are no bad gigs here, it’s all good!Excellent idea Mark.. Photographic subjects of every kind.
Joker, yeah it’s in Warrenpoint.. I might not have posted the offical website.
nfl… 26 degrees in Warrenpoint and loads of sunshine……… :P
