Hi!
GF was in NYC for the Xmas and she was going to spend about 100 euros on me so I said put it towards a SLR and I’ll give ya the rest of the money. :)
She got the 400D with a 50mm lens from B & H.
Took some photos on Auto but only casually used the cam for the 1st few weeks, then I went to a Punk gig in Sligo and as usual bought the Vid cam I have for fiming gigs, check my sig ;)
Anyways got pissed drunk and when I woke up next morn my Cam bag was empty!
Was not to be found so out of my measly savings I replaced it with another one in Gunn’s of Wexford street, few weeks later after trying my best to coax a friend to get a SLR because I knew she would help as I have a terrible memory, I went back to Gunn’s and bought a 450D and sold the 400D to her very cheap!
Love the 450D the 3″ LCD is fantastic….
So in a nutshell I have had 3 new slr’s since Xmas!!
Anyways it was only about 6-8 weeks ago that it all started to click together about using a Camera, well some of it!!
I still have way loads to learn but
I’ve being totally hooked on this hobby since.
I’ve since emptied my bank account on the Cams and glass…
70-200L f4
50mm f1.4
100mm Macro f2.8
1.4 extender.Got the last 2 items via HK (E-bay)
Camera shops so expensive here….Hi Punk Rock!

I too have the 450D and am a bit envious reading your list of equipment :P
