JB, my technique involves shaking a lot while trying to stay still
and hoping that the auto-focus will allow the shutter to fire at the
right time.
You’ve given me a new idea, though. If I switch to manual focus and
attempt to get it about right, then fire off a few while I do the shaky bit,
I might just get lucky. It’s a plan.
As for the gear purchases, you’re right. It’s a terrible disease – a symptom
of our “must have” consumer society blah blah blah all ending in a terrible feeling
of emptiness (or something else, if the missis finds the credit card statements).
