These photos would be good Noely, I like most of them, but there is something wrong with the optical quality on the long shots. Sometimes they look like they were cropped and the subjects are magnified (they are a bit noisy and lack of sharpness). Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about your skills, but your equipment. What equipment and what settings do you use for birding?

No need to be wary about criticism :D I can take it  I’m afraid I haven’t got much money so all I have is the Sigma 70-300 for my wildlife shots
If it wasnt for critics I’d still be posting crappy shots…but because I’ve learned from my mistakes its made me a better shooter…..or so I like to think

    Hi Noely,

I noticed that you were using the Sigma 70-300 lens.
I was in Gunns the other day and there was a guy with the same lens who
was having a similar problem. Apparently that particular lens suffers from loose
optics. This problem only hits a small percentage of the shipped lenses but it can happen.

Gunns told him to go to repair centre in Portabello and that they could tighten the lenses.

It is a quick fix and does work.

You might want to give them a shout. Ye never know.

Oh and cool picture love the stare.
