Japanese Gardens & Irish National Stud, Tully, Kildare

I was in Kildare yesterday and visited the Irish National Stud and Japanese gardens. I used the only lens I had on me, a 50mm (35mm equivalent).

Nature and Wildlife is not the type of photography that I particularly enjoy doing or looking at but yesterday was fun.

For anyone interested in this type of photography and hasn’t visited the facility yet, I would highly recommend it. Plenty of tourists wandering around with very expensive camera setups having lots of fun.

    Hi James7,

A nice set of photographs and It does indeed look like an interesting location.

The colours in #1 and #2 look a little washed out.
Were they taken at a time of day when the sun was high and very bright?
Maybe they are a little overexposed?
I think they look very good apart from that.

#3 looks like a nice scene too but I think the mono looks a little flat.
Again I am guessing that the time of day hasn’t helped.
I might have placed the horse a little less centrally and not as close to the bottom of the frame.

I think #4 is the most complete image of the 4.
Good composition and lovely saturated colour.
I imagine a lovely peaceful scene with the figure having a nice rest from the heat of the day.

    Well done.

    John.
