Not really sure what section this one should go in, so I’m putting it here. Yes, it looks pretty processed, but the original was really weak (shot through a tour bus window, on a rainy day) so I’m happy (mostly) with the results. :)
This pagoda was commissioned by King Leopold II in 1901… apparently he’d seen similar ones at the Paris expo in 1890. It (and the Chinese pavilion across the street) is a real weird site in the middle of the Laeken district of Brussels. Something you don’t really expect to see.
Thanks for pointing out the orangy bits at the bottom… methinks it’s a bit of reflection off the bus window. I was so worried about getting the pagoda into viewable condition that I didn’t even notice! :)
