jb7Participant
So these are the last of them…
There are still some pictures to come from other participants, of course-
not sure what’s holding them up-
quality issues maybe…Taking on fuel…
Dracula, and his Bride…
I should have done more with these-
They did pose for us, but I like this one better-This guy was quite happy posing for the cameras-
didn’t get his name, unfortunately-Though I think I prefer this version…
Maureen, the psychic.
Proof, if any was needed, that the Irish Pub is not flagging-
or is, if you like-
whatever.Future’s so bright…
Sinead, showing some flair…
Rob, dappled-
Another tourist must-have…
The Usual Suspects.
She was good, and the Arch had a nice reverb-
So that’s it, no more, thanks for looking…
I know this is the lo-fi section, but if anyone would like to c&c, it’s most welcome-This was a jolly, as has been said already, and I think I’ve now posted 28 ‘warts and all’ pictures from the day,
an enormous number by anybody’s standards, but particularly for me, I think-Usually, I’d sooner not take a picture, as a tourist, but as quality was never going to be an issue,
using this plastic button for a lens was quite disinhibiting, and really quite enjoyable. Thanks again to Sinead for organizing it-
joseph
MartinParticipantA couple of really strong shots there. The 2nd is my fav, defo one i would print if it was mine… No 4 stands out for me also… Negs look very nicely processed, look hand done, was it gunns or yourself…
jb7ParticipantThanks Martin, I quite like the fourth too-
I did the negs, first time using HC110.
I dev’d one roll as a test, using the massive dev chart time for Dilution H.
I thought the negs were a bit dense, so I processed the other 3 rolls together,
and adjusted the time, giving a minute had a half less-
not a very noticeable difference really-Everything scanned ok on the V750 anyway, so I suppose I should have treated them all as standard-
Thanks again-
j
gezzaParticipantGreat shots – I love no 2 also – and the arch one- there are definately quality issues holding up photos from other participants!
G
jessthespringerParticipantThese are great Joseph, I really like them.
Those hotdogs were great… Love the composition in that picture.
I think the one of Rob is my favorite, I like the daple, and the composition,
love his pose, and the random dancing man in the backgroung, and the triangle
that’s made by the space in the hedges. I remember seeing you take that.Like Psychic Maureen too, and the girls on the bus, and the last flag picture, and the singing
girl, she had some very funny lyrics.
And, the one of us all on the other side of the road, and the one of me, I like that too.jb7 wrote:

Disinhibiting – Good word! I think that’s true though. There was a very laid back feel to the day,
I don’t think any of us felt under pressure to produce fantastic pictures, although, there have been quite a few posted.Glad you enjoyed the day and glad you posted an enormous number of pictures.
Sinead
5faytheParticipantHi Joseph,
Your outing has produced some interesting images that I have
enjoyed viewing.I like the one of the girls wrapped up for bad weather and engaging
with the camera.
Were they part of your crew or just 2 people who wandered into
your world by accident?Love the busker playing her heart out and everybody rushing past.
Sometimes I feel everybody is rushing past without noticing too.Well done,
John.
Mick451Participantjb7ParticipantThanks everyone, for taking the time to comment,
even for finding something worth commenting on…Good to see that there are so many different ones striking chords too-
oddly, I suppose, because I just decided to show (almost0 everything,
rather than perform my usual cull.Sinead, thanks for the detailed list and descriptions-
that one of Rob is on my list too, though it won’t take much enlargement, I’m afraid-
I put his head too close to the edge-
should have remembered what I was pointing at him…Thanks Gerry-
Quality issues holding up photos?
If I didn’t have quality issues I’d have had nothing to post…Cheers John-
Those girls were unlucky enough to be down the back of the bus when we invaded it-
I thought their good humour and big glasses deserved a snap,
and they graciously allowed me-That one was taken around the same time as the Fujiroid group shot…
Yes, busking is a hard job, and she was good-
I hung around for a few minutes, in the hope that someone would put something in the hat-
in the end, I had to do it myself-Cheers Mick-
Almost nostalgic?
maybe that’s the purpose of some photographs-
and maybe some of these press the right buttons to help build it in-Go on, down the chemist with you…
Thanks again-
joseph
mgstParticipantThese are execellent JB really enjoyed looking at them in particular the 3rd 4th and the last one.
Mick
jb7ParticipantThanks very much Mick-
it’s like looking at somebody’s holiday snaps…A thought occurred to me-
I’ve posted anything and everything off this camera,
and they’re all in the LoFi section, and reasonably fresh…With Sinead’s LoFi Print Exchange not too far away now, less than a month,
perhaps, in a bid to limit disappointment to known levels,
participants could choose which print they’d like to, no prefer, to receive?Otherwise I’d have to choose myself, and there have been quite a few different ones mentioned…
There’s these ones, the C41 ones, and the Exclusive Preview ones-
there are also the Wooden Fujiroids,
but because the resolution of the film is quite low, those might have to be printed quite small…Anyway, they’re going to come from these recent shots,
so let me know what you think…joseph
MartinOCParticipantNice set Joseph,
For me the best are #2, and I prefer #3 to #4 just because of the guy, although #4 have a better composition of the building.
The one of Rob looking cool and casual, two cameras, and the break-the-rules head chop. Great play-off against the dorky dancer [sorry if you are reading this, I dance dorky as well].The hotdogs were great too. Back in Tokyo now, it was a great day. Maybe I’ll be around for the next lofi day.
Martin
aoluainParticipantAnother class set there Joseph, I love Dracula and his Bride! that would be my definite fav from this set!
All of them have again something interesting to offer, Taking on fuel was well spotted there!
futures so bright is really nice too . . .RobMemberBrilliant to see these Joseph…
That’s quite a set, lots of variation and exceedingly difficult to pick a favourite. Easier
to pick several favourites…Number four’s a corker, as already mentioned, and Sinead showing some flair is brilliant.
Like the one of me too; good that you caught the catcher in the background, looks like
he’s doing some sort of manic dance, oblivious to the world. This would look so different
had you caught the thrower in frame too. Really really like the last one too of Gogarty’s…My own set, as I mentioned on one of Sinead’s threads, will be viewable some time next
week when I get the scans back from the lab, warts and all, and I’m expecting plenty of
those…jb7ParticipantThanks Martin, Alan, Rob…
Still no takers for choosing your print for the print exchange?
you’re going to be even more disappointed than you might have been…So far we’re looking at Dracula, building with man/no man,
Sinead, Rob, Gogarty’s, Maureen, Hot Dogs-
that’s almost one of each…Of course, Rob and Sinead will be due one of themselves anyway…
Sinead actually asked for one,
and I don’t want Rob to feel left out…Thanks again for the comments-
joseph
jb7ParticipantWell apologies for the bump-
I printed some of these for the exchange (thanks Sinead, and everyone for the lovely prints-)
and rather unsurprisingly, they all changed-Impact at a small scale was traded for detail and a longer tonal range-
These are reductions from the print files-
It has to be said, those that attended the event got first pick of the prints,
and invariably chose the less worser ones…
