Jeff’s acting career

Jeff is a good friend of mine and is beginning his acting career. He needed a few headshots for his CV. I was really glad to help out. Anyone ever done stuff like this? C&C welcome.

No expert here, but a nice set of shots,
I think the pose on the first one works best, but think the eyes could have been abit sharper, particularly the right eye. There also seems to be abit of a halo around the left shoulder.
The second shot would be the best in my opinion, the lighting looks better and the image looks sharper.
The pose in the third looks good, but I would have been tempted with a tigther crop around the head, as the DOF leaves the right should pretty blurred.
Is the 3rd one blue steel, or Magnum? :-)
Number 1 is great. was this studio taken or just beside a natural light source like a window?
