I dont like the first one, it tells nothing and I always have reservations about photographing homeless people for street, although they are part of it I know. However the second one is everything the first one isnt; visually strong, inventive, and the dignity of the subject is intact. I may be going out on a limb here, but its one of the best street shots posted here since I have been a member – well done.
Hi Truman.
Personally, I prefer the first shot, but I would prefer if the lady’s face wasn’t visible or recognisable. It shows what is life for a lot of people. I think using a title like “You’ve got a friend” or “Lean on me” might work better for me (but that’s just me) as I think they sort of reinforces what the viewer is looking at. Well done
Steve, thanks man, seriously. I don’t think that is true considering the first pic of the lady in your recent posting amongst others, as well as the postings in general on this site.
I had to turn back and take the picture of her yesterday. I think it is a protest of sort. I don’t like the first one but the image of Jesus came out so strong in colour it was difficult to ignore.
Compare two pictures above, the colour Jesus doesn’t play any role, cause Jesus has more symbolic meaning what makes it better and clear as icon perception.
