Another of Monika from the weekend – natural light again – ;) She’s seriously pretty !!
I have a nasty habit of thinking out loud and something I said made her laugh – I liked the expression and feeling of that “click” but I’m trying out some more textured processing – just messing around with it really.
Curious to hear reviews: feel free ;)

suspectmonkeyMemberI love the shot, the lighting and composition really work well. Especially when paired up with that beautiful smile, looks very natural. That said I’m not too keen on the processing, the texture on the cheek just doesn’t do the photo justice in my opinion. To be honest I think its one of those cracking natural shots that just doesn’t need too much work…
kenhParticipantI’m no expert Lorraine, but this is a wonderful shot – great warmth and sexiness – lovely model and great lighting!
MartinParticipantLove the model, how she is positioned and how you framed the shot but the processing is not doing it for me, the textured processing is not doing it for me I am afraid.
Would be interesting to see a version of the shot with just basic processing as it does look like a lovely shot

LoGillParticipantThanks eveyone !
Appreciate the comments and feedback – I’ll try and get a “straight forward” edit up for comparison later – see how that sits
For myself – I’m not convinced I achieved what I wanted here eith er- the more I look at this – I think I’ve “unbalanced” the image around the face a bit – so I will be going back to the drawing board with a view to getting a better version of what I was trying for ;)
Cheers

adrianmatthewsParticipantHi Lorraine,
Like others I am no expert……far from it..
I love the candid nature of the shot and agree with the comments in relation to the framing.
I quite like the texture, adds to the mood of the shot, real lazy sunday morning mood. The only thing which I find off balancing is in relation to the models face,
with her hair covering the RHS of her face, it is creating a sharp contrast between her RHS of her face her nose. I feel this over emphasising her nose. My eye seems to be drawn to it.ATB

justaguyParticipantSeeing the title of this picture, I felt I had to react on this.
So here it goes. Maybe you can hook me up with her.
BTW picture looks greatwirepicParticipantThis is a lovely shot. The lighting is very good. Again I’m with the others on the processing. I’m not sure it works well, especially as it seems to be just applied to her face. As was said above, I don’t think it needs much in the way of processing.
jessthespringerParticipantReally lovely picture Lorraine, love the composition and the relaxed atmosphere. Not so sure about the texture though,
looks a tad strong.
A roll of Neopan 1600 or Delta 3200 might give you what your after :wink:Sinead
mervifwdcParticipantI like the texture, I’d love to see in on her arm as well, the whole image really. I bet it would look good as a big print, it’s got that candid feeling because of the laugh, and still it’s a good composition/lighting.
Looking forward to seeing more!

MichellaParticipantYes Monika is seriously pretty. Great portrait Lorraine, she looks like she’s having fun! The grain appears to be stronger in the shadow areas; I like the texture but maybe agree with Merv, throughout the whole image might make the darker parts a bit less distracting.
Michelle.osheadParticipantLorraine, I have to say. I’m a bit of a fan of yours. The last one blew me away. Love this too.
b318ispParticipantThe posing is really good here, however I’m struggling with what looks like excessive grain and contrast on the face compared to the rest of the image (e.g. the hand)…there is a hardness and softness that clash.
