2nd one works better than first. I’m starving right now!!
I think a few factors influence my decision.
The black dish helps isolate the colours of the dish.
The arrangement of the food, prawns centre and on topa wider crop of number 2 might help show that it is cooking, telling a story, looks more like a comparison of 2 similar dishes otherwise. Changing DOF to bring back of plate into focus might make it a bit more appetising
