K10D vs D80 and D200

With the Pentax K10D just days away from the suppliers is anyone thinking of buying?

Looks like it’s going to be about ?599 as my original post suggested and is likely to be going head to head with the Nikon D200 for IQ rather than the D80. Samples are now being posted from the first US users on dpreview and seems to be outclassing the D80 thanks to the 22 bit A/D converter. Combine this with in-body stabilisation and weatherproofing it looks very tempting at the price.

How is me auld pal the sheriff.

Pentax and Sony certainly are giving Canon and Nikon a good run for their money right now and its about bloody time.
The K10D really looks like it has all the ingredients for a great dslr. If I wasnt so heavily invested in Canon lenses and seriously looking at FF, I would certainly be looking hard at the K10D. The image quality looks great. The bottom line is there is great choice out there for anyone looking to buy at the moment.

The upgrade helter-skelter! And whereas good film kit held its value for a few years, your digital stuff is dropping in price like a computer hard drive.

Plus all those lovely old manual focus and fully compatible Takumars just waiting for K10D users on eBay (hint?buy ’em quick before everybody else cops on and the prices go silly).
