Probably one of the most expressive models I’ve worked with. Comments welcome.
Firstly, the model. Fantastic. Absolutely beautiful lines, and stunning
posture. The profile of her face is unbelievable; people would pay big
buck for a nose like that. She certainly knows how to pose, I like the
gloves, and the hair and makeup is brilliant.As for the photograph, the lighting is terrific. It looks quite hard, which
I like as it helps to accentuate and give definition to the form. Doesn’t have
that gentle glow that you tend get from softboxes. Any chance of a rundown
on your lighting setup for this?There’s just one distraction for me with this, and I’m not sure if it’s a minor
one, only that it is one, and it’s her left arm showing behind her back. I can’t
decide if it would be better to see more of it or to not see it at all. At the
moment it’s just a small wedge of black velvet, but it does interrupt the flow
for me. Just a personal opinion mind you. I don’t know if anyone else would
find it offputting. Great to see you posting again. Quality work as always…Rob.
I agree with robs comments, the arm is slightly distracting
the other thing i am not sure about is the front glove, she looks quite delicate, but her hand in that glove looks quite ‘chunky’ if that makes sense. almost out of proportion.
Like rob says the lighting is very nice

Cheers guys. Lighting was with a softbox and in fact it was very close to the model (2~3 feet at most). It was placed at ceiling height pointing down.
Thanks for that Ciaran. I’m surprised that it’s a softbox, doesn’t have that
look at all. Clever lighting too, all that from one light.Rob.
That diagram begs another question. Is the paper white or gray?
