I can see its worth the risk buying from outside the EU for the cost savings for items of a reasonable cost such as memory cards, low cost lenses, filters etc but can’t help wondering if the cost savings on DSLR outweigh the hassle you might incur if you needed to have it repaired whether under warranty or not. Has anyone had experience of having to claim under warranty for a DSLR or expensive lens bought online from Hong kong.
Hi , i bought 40d plus lots of extras from albert kea photo, and would encourage anyone to buy from him, i should tell you that i encountered a probelm with my camera when i first got it but e mailed him and he said send it back he covered the cost and with ih a few days i had another brand new one which is working beautifuly comunication is great i email him last thing at night and check my emails in the morning and there’s always a reply. hope this helps
I just used UR Galaxy there last week to buy two Nikkor lenses, and they were BRILLIANT. Ordered on Thursday and recieved on Monday. Lenses were mint, and he kept in touch all the way. Initially took a day or two to reply to questions, but was really helpful when I actually was specific about what I wanted. Prices are great too. Bought two lenses so he didn’t charge extra for FedEx.
