Taken at Dunree Fort, 5 exposures, put together in Photomatix some dodge & burn + sharpening in photoshop.

Hope you like the effect, comments welcome Thanks.

Hmmm, I think you’ve gone too far with this processing. I think the HDR effect should be subtle and above all life like. I’ve never seen a sky that colour or grass that green and red. Looks like you’ve got a nice scene there though and with 5 exposures you should be able to get a marvelous photo out of this.

hdr gives a great effect but as FIG said i think you went over board,, i would like to see it again but a little bit less on the saturation etc :?

Nice one Seamus and welcome to the forum.

I saw this shot in the Journal photographic competition.

It does stand out a little obviously as HDR for my liking which is a shame because it’s a nicely composed image with a great sky.

I would suggest bringing the saturation back to more realistic levels. How do the individual exposures look?

    Hi Andy, Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments, Glad to be part of this forum. Was having some colour management problems at the time of the photo. Have uploaded this edited version, saturation pulled back. Thanks

Didn’t notice it was your first post so belated welcome :-)

I think the foreground and sea look much better now. I still think the sky could be toned back a bit as the black bits are just a little too much imo.
