Late Lunch!!

Went for a ramble in the City Centre with a friend last Thursday and came across this guy grabbing a quick bite to eat on the boardwalk. Just couldn;t resist having a bite myself :D

I like it robbie.. The boardwalk is one of my favourite stomping grounds, always someone doing something there. I’m not sure I’d have spotted that he’s eating a snadndwich if you hadn’t said so though …

I like your choice for composition.. perhaps a touch less on the bottom and more space over the head area.. but the lines are used very well. I looks a little like it could use a contrast boost  (imagine me saying that ;) )

No exif info so I’d be curious about your settings too ;)

Thanks Lorraine :D I’m not sure why the Exif doesn’t appear. Must be something to do with Flikr? If you click on the pic and go to the original size on Flikr the Exif is there. But I’ll save ya the bother…

I did play with a bit more contrast but I thought it lost detail in the shadows…so I went as it is above. I will try your suggested crop as I have room at the top….

    Cheers :D

    Cheers Robbie … ;)

If you do a levels or curves adjustment and apply it as a mask you can paint in the contrast to the areas you choose – allowing you to make sure that you retain the details where you want it ?

Masks are something I haven’t mastered yet to be honest Lorraine..I’ve done Layers adjustments for B&W conversions, but that’s about it. Actually I’ve been discussing this with Ali, the idea of having a Photoshop day. Hopefully it’s something we can organise sometime soon. :D

Great idea  .. hope it works out :) – just saw brandymans post here for loads of stuff in the meantime.. https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=5831 also – plenty of tips on masks in that thread to get you started . Have fun :)
