Late to the party

davederaveParticipant
Hi Everybody,
Really coming at all of this late in life. My wife bought me a DSLR for our 30th wedding anniversary recenty and I have been trying to get to grips with it since. The camera that is :-)
While searching for training courses in Dublin I stumbled accross this forum and having had a bit of a look around I realise now how much I have to learn. That said there is such a wealth of knowledge on the forum I know I am in the right place to do that. Hopefully one day I will be able to take shots as good as some of those I have seen here.

shutterbugParticipantWelcome Dave, dont be shy and join in! Always glad to help in
any way I can, what camp are you in? Nikon, Canon etc not that
we are biased in anyway at all :lol:davederaveParticipantThanks Guys,
Looking forward to the journey.
Jenny, I’m in the Sony camp for now. I have a Sony A200 and am getting used to it slowly but surely. I need to get out and use it more though!
I plan taking a 1 day course in July and hopefully will get better use out of it after that. Any recommendations on courses would be appreciated.
Dave
shutterbugParticipantI have the Sony a700 and love it, even though most of the time I am using a Nikon
but I cant bring myself to get rid of the Sony! Sony do a course every so often and I
found it really useful as the focus was on Sony cameras and the fella running it knew
all there was to know about the cameras. You should contact them and ask when
there next course will be on.MarkKeymasterDave,
We’d recommend the Institute of Photography (member is IOP here on the site).
based on the satisfaction of many folks here on PI.5faytheParticipantHi Dave,
