Playing the Forum in Waterford last Friday for her EP launch. Some of my favourite shots from the night.
C&C appreciated.

AnonymousParticipantHey,
Love the first one, something very iconic about it..well done i’m kinda out on the others-sorry.. :wink:John DunneParticipantNice shots
The first one looks excellent. Id probably add a bit of black space to the left. It looks cropped.
The second the mic is in the way for me.
Third and fourth i dunnoBut the first one is a cracking good shot. Reminds me of the clapton image on the cover of his greatest hits album. Well done.
RobMemberI’m going to buck the trend here and opt for the second image as a favourite. While I don’t dislike any of them, this second picture represents (to me at least) the essence of what a gig shot should capture. I know the microphone is slicing through the shot and cutting out the view of her right eye and most of her mouth, but all the action is there and the mood of a live performance is captured perfectly. Isn’t this most of what we see at live gigs? The first shot, while attractive enough, could have been posed in a studio to give the impression of live performance. Just my tuppence worth.
RobertoMemberI am completely break the trend. My favourite is the last one because the best ‘action’ is there for me.
The first one has burn places like arm and hand.
I don’t like very much face photos with microfone.
The third photo would be the best if we can see a little bit of detail from the face.FajitasParticipantThanks all.
First one is a very cliche’d kinda shot for gigs, guess there’s a reason it’s cliche’d though :p
I like the second for the same reasons as Rob.
Any crit on the last? I’m really drawn to it, I know the bass is in focus, but I really like the eye contact between bassist and guitarist, framed by the in focus bass!
photospecMemberHey there Fajitas
Love the images. Could you tell me the camera setup details, ISO, shutterspeed etc. I like the third one the best, great image.
Punk RockMember#1 and #3 although similarish are the best especially #1
#2Would have been so much better without the mic blocking her face, never forget that!
