Lee Filters – Where to buy?

nfl-fanParticipant
Am looking to get the 1/2/3 stop ND Grad kit (Soft). Anyone any recommendations on where to get these?
RobertWhite in the UK have them… but it bugs me the way they don’t include the VAT in their prices.
WarehouseExpress have ’em… but last time I got a shipping quote from them it was outrageous and was put off ’em ever since.
Anyone aware of any other options?

FrankCParticipantHi nfl-fan,
I have the following for sale – never got around to putting them in the ‘items for sale’, but your message was the push I needed.
Holder System Foundation Kit (€45)
Lens Adaptor Ring – 77mm W/A (€15)
ND Grad Soft Filter Set. (€120)or €160 for the lot – would prefer to sell them together.
All are unused in the original boxes, bought last year. I intended to get more into landscape photography but other things intruded.
Postage extra, at cost (or you can collect them for free !!!).rc53Membernfl-fan wrote:

I got a couple of things from Robert White sent to Switzerland. They didn’t charge VAT on them – and
there were no duties to pay in Switzerland. It did cost £8 to aircharge them. No VAT should be payable for purchases in ROI.The Lee ND grads do seem to be hard to get – many retailers don’t ever seem to have them;
but Robert White seem to be much more relaible in this respect.nfl-fanParticipantnfl-fanParticipantSorry Bertie… didn’t see your response there as I was typing back to Frank.
Yeah… RobertWhite… I went through the checkout process last night… the initial cost jumped up when I went to checkout when they added on the VAT… so I went further into the checkout process thinking that when I specified my shipping detail it might go-away but then the £8 shipping came up… and then they added VAT onto that… and then when I got to the final checkout (I think it was final) it was still looking for VAT.
Bit annoying… you get a bit mislead about the actual price vs. the initial price on display.
Maybe the VAT does come off but I thought you had to pay it within the EU… not sure.
MartinParticipantGet the hard set not the soft set
I had the soft set originally but then went out and bought the hard set afterwards. I use the hard set 80% of the time now
I got mine from Robert White (really good guys)
MPD_BARBSParticipantAlso try http://www.teamworkphoto.com/.
I just bought a set of Hitech filters from them and the service was pretty good. But again you will need to add VAT to the quoted price.
nfl-fanParticipantCheers for that… forgot about TeamWorkPhoto… bought from them before. Good Service.

No problem, my message sort of crossed with Frank’s.
You might be right about the VAT – Switzerland is outside the EU, of course.
I think RW deals a lot with pros – they can get the VAT back, so it isn’t so relevant for them.
Robert White seems to have the Lee filters in stock – many others have them on ‘backorder’
I got a set of hard grads from them a couple of weeks ago – but I was in NI then.
FintanParticipantThese would be my fav places to buy these days both stocking Lee filters
http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk in Belfast
http://www.silverprint.co.uk/ in London
BarkerPhotographicParticipantI am told Conns cameras in Dublin stock them. As regards VAT on products from the UK (or other EU Country) you have to pay it UNLESS your can quote the seller your valid Irish VAT reg No.
IOPParticipantI can confirm what Paddy says there. Conns do sell them. I recently got a the full set of hard/soft/ND with hood from them,
Dave
jahernParticipantHave used them a few times, and had no problems. Their website tells what items are in stock etc.
