Nice to see Leica coming out with a new DSLR: http://www.s.leica-camera.com/
They appear to be mounting a Medium Format digital sensor in a 35mm form body, making it look and handle like a 35mm SLR. The lens appear to be auto-focussing (http://uk.leica-camera.com/photography/s_system/) and with TWO shutters: an in-body shutter and a lens-mounted leaf-shutter for fast flash sync. And eye-wateringly expensive no doubt!
Does anyone have any more information (preferably insider!)?

Don’t worry – it was a drool over the spec of the new Leica, but could have been anything!
I even went and searched for a price, but not available yet.
Wonder if the wife would mind if I sold one of the kids on e-bay …
I’ve not been able to find anything re price either but based on the fact that a) it’s a Leica, b) it has a new Leica lens system, c) the size of the sensor … I’m guessing that the price is going to be in the region of two children …
Let me know how you get on with the Ebay thing; my wife can be kind of irrational about selling the kids to purchase photographic equipment but you know how they get :)

ahem, yes, probably best to spell that out as I’m actually quite attached to the kids – except when changing their sheets at 4am …

I says $45,000 I’ll take two their smallWhy are Leicas so expensive ? And I don’t just mean expensive, I mean ridiculously expensive. Who uses a €45,000 camera ? Do Pros even bother shelling out this much for a camera. You would need an armed guard with you everytime you go out with it. I know it has a 37mg pixel but what else contribues towards the price. Does anyone out the have one that they could post some pictures up so as we can see what all the fuss is about ?
