Lense Error message

    Yesterday morning i went out early just before sunrise and couldnt switch on my canon powershot SX20. It said “lense error restart camera”. I did try many times but it didnt work. About half hour later it worked again. I went to killarney to take some shots but then again for no reason lense error came up. i even took batteries out but no good until maybe 30 min later it was okay again. Now i dont know what to do.I bought my camera online with pixmania in april so i do have still warranty on it. canon does not do repairs in ireland so far as i can see.I could send it to pixmania and they send it to UK. The thing is i’m doing this photography course here in dingle and i need my camera for it..Did anybody else had this problem? Thanks:)

    This appears to be a well known error message. I don’t have one of these cameras but I did a quick search for the error and I found the following:

    http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=889043&page=2″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

    It appears that when the person sent it to Canon it turned out to be a faulty ultrasonic motor…..

    If this is the case – I would return it to Canon whilst it is under warranty otherwise you could be looking at an expensive repair in the future…

    Best of luck
