No problem, just make sure that you have enough money for another holiday in case you won´t be satisfied with the photos from the first one. Because once you´re in Vegas and find out that your handheld shots are too blurred/underexposed/noisy, it can be too late to look for a better advice ;)
edg3Participanti was just trolling the forums and seen this topic, hoping it would help me out (as i’m looking into new lenses myself i clicked in) and while i didnt find anything i could use, i hope i can offer you some advice, first of all, ignore MMX, hes a know it all who talks down to anyone who isnt his reflection in the mirror.
As for what you looking for, i’m not an expert on that camera or the lenses you can get for it but from personal Canon experience, the best lens i ever bought was an 18-200mm Tamron. Right now its my main lens. I have a 50mm and a 85mm (shipping soon) an 18-55 and im looking into getting a 100-400mm, but majority of my workload rests on my 18-200mm, its great for portraits, medium distance zoom and clarity. It goesnt have IS or VR unfortunately but i got myself a decent tripod and a monopod and i’ve had no major problems with blur since.
As for Vegas/New York, I’m guessing their brighter then Prague, and i used my camera bag for alot of my shots, (damaged tripod at the time) and they turned out really well, especially for snapshots at night.
I had a 400D at the time and i used 800 and 600ISO at 1/80 and 1/40 at F6.3 and i got alot of nice usable coupley shots to remember the trip by. I found anything lower then that i got to much blur and the pictures were ruined.
I hope some of the advice here helps you out somewhat and you get some nice pictures.

Hi Alane i dont have enough knowledge to say all sigma pentax fit lenses will work, i had a gx10, i traded up to the gx20 i use a couple of sigma lenses they all work fine , if you know which specific lenses you are interested i might be able to find out for you from a friend who is in the business.

katiemParticipanthi casey78, i love your photos! although, i would have expected to see your other half, seeing as it was your honeymoon
Im in the same boat, just bought a pentax kx, and am trying to find my way around it, and get lens advice. it must be a bit of a pain for the more advanced members of this forum to see the same questions all the time, i suppose it is easy to seem superior, when maybe they just get a bit pissed off :D anyway, hope you enjoy your camera, must spend the next god knows how many weeks trying to get to grips with mine. happy 2011.The Fine PrintMemberExcellent! Thanks for sharing….I had wondered how it all went. Great so see some of the pics!
