Not much light this morning typical UK weather wet and dull so High Iso required and f4.

After two years absence of these little beauties in my garden they are slowly coming back and enjoying the Niger seed.
I think this one is a male.

Editing was selective noise reduction on the background + 30/5/4 unsharp mask on the bird.
I also darkened the background a little to have the bird pop a little more.

Hope to get some more better images when the quality of light improves.

Jenny if you have Niger Seed out for the Goldfinches you might find some Redpolls will follow if they are in your area.

Stunning shot Gareth and very well presented.
I have noticed quite a few of them around my feeders as well this year……./Mikka
