An interesting shot… well composed – I think it could have been a bit more interesting if it wasn’t taken from eye level. If you’d gotten down to his level, it could have made a much more striking shot (although then you may have ended up with unwanted bits in the background)

Hey.. Welcome (I’m liking your website btw :D)

I really like this shot – I agree it would be a different kind of shot from a lower perspective and it might be interesting to see… but in my oppinion this works. He looks small, isolated and ignored and I think the loftier perspective communicates this… I also really like the lines of the bridge ( i presume its the millenium bridge??)

The only thing I would suggest that you try bring in more contrast to the image, but thats a personal preference ;)

    Nice job :)

I would like to have seen this with some more background and shot from a lower position too. However, the in-close shot would beenfit from more space, he’s just too big in the frame, I think I would be tempted to convey the emotion of his situation with more room. Does that make any sense at all?

Just to be different, I would have cropped in even tighter on the left, top and bottom but kept the same width. I think a tight crop creates an uncomfortableness which adds to the feeling of certain people photographs. Agree with the others though in that I would prefer it taken from a lower, almost ground level angle.

I do agree with the all the advice of getting lower and possibly close but it was just an uncomposed snapshot taken crossing one of the foot bridges over the liffey. I also had the 50mm on so couldnt really stay take it from too far back and i didnt really want to be stuck in the guys face but in the future I suppose to get a great capture i’ll need to get in there. Thanks to everyone for the comments…
